What Is RELIEF®

RELIEF® is a minimally invasive procedure offering a transformative approach to treating musculoskeletal conditions and injuries. The treatment unlocks the body's potential for recovery by helping to address problematic fascia and create needed support for nearby structures like tendons, ligaments, muscles, joints, bones, or nerves that might be experiencing pain or discomfort.

Treatment Areas

The fascia is a complex and remarkable network of connective tissue that runs throughout our entire body. Dehydrated and scarred connective tissue may well be the cause of your pain in the following treatment areas

Knees
Open/Close

For many knee conditions such as osteoarthritis, torn meniscus or ACL, and other degenerative problems, the state of the connective tissue and entrapped nerves could well be the cause of an individual’s discomfort, inflammation, and decreased range of motion

Hips
Open/Close

Pain on the outside of your hip, upper thigh, or outer buttocks is usually caused by problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues surrounding your hip joint

Shoulders
Open/Close

The shoulder consists of the most dynamic and complex joints in your body. For shoulder pain due to conditions and injuries such as osteoarthritis, rotator cuff, and labrum tears, and many other degenerative conditions, the state of the connective tissue and entrapped nerves could well be the cause of an individual’s pain

Back & Neck
Open/Close

Neck and back surgeries can be highly invasive with a very real risk of complications, often leading to significant post-surgical pain and decreased mobility resulting from the scarred tissue.

Elbow
Open/Close

Tennis or golfer’s elbow, a UCL injury, arthritis, or neuropathy can cause elbow pain and limit mobility. In an injured or operated on elbow scar tissue may be present which can reduce the elasticity of healthy muscle.

Foot & Ankle
Open/Close

Injuries to the elastic, connective tissues cause scarring which may change how you walk and over time put painful stress on other parts of the foot thereby increasing the risk of reinjury.

Hand & Wrist
Open/Close

Perhaps you’ve grown accustomed to discomfort or limited mobility in your hand, wrist, or fingers. Whether it’s from an old sports injury or another digital casualty courtesy of your hand-held device or keyboard, the cause of your pain may well be the state of the connective tissue and entrapped nerves.

Post Surgical
Open/Close

Surgery can create scarring both layers deep in the body and on the skin’s surface. Performing joint surgery involves cutting into multiple layers of anatomy: the skin; subcutaneous fat; connective tissue; muscles, tendons and ligaments; and the lining around the bone called the ostium.

Fully comprehensive assessment of your tissue health

A doctor treating his patient's shoulder

Our expert physicians perform a comprehensive assessment of your clinical condition and ask you to perform the exact movements that cause you the most discomfort while we watch you under ultrasound. We pinpoint adhered and hardened soft tissue and design a treatment plan that will most benefit you.

Treatment within 3cm of your skin’s surface

During the RELIEF® treatment, our doctors use a thin needle under precise ultrasound guidance to enter areas of unhealthy fascia all within 3cm of your skin’s surface. We use a combination of physical contact from the needle and the force from injected fluid to separate layers of tissue that have become adhered together.

The procedure introduces fluid to help rehydrate the tissue in areas where it is dehydrated, create expansion in compacted areas, break up adhesions, and help signal the body to rebuild healthy tissue. We believe addressing tissue with RELIEF® can greatly enhance fascial mobility and function and provide the needed support for nearby structures.

No sedation — Walk in/walk out treatment

The treatment takes approximately 60-90 minutes using local anesthesia, with minimal downtime afterward. No bracing or post-treatment immobilization is needed. In fact, pro athletes have been treated the day prior to playing in their season games.

How RELIEF® compares to other treatments

RELIEF® provides an alternative that facilitates the restoration of scarred to healthy tissue, frees nerves from entrapment and catalyzes the body’s innate healing ability. No surgery, steroids, stem cells and minimal downtime.

Stem Cells

  • Stem Cell procedures are more invasive than RELIEF®
  • Recovery period can range from weeks to months
  • Possible ethical concerns around harvesting stem cells
PRP being injected into patient

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)

  • PRP procedures are directed at deeper structures
  • Does not address abnormalities in fascial planes

Cortisone / Steroid Injections

  • May temporary mask symptoms
  • Does not address underlying cause of pain

Pain Medication

  • Does not address underlying cause of pain
  • Potential addiction risk or cognitive effects
A live surgery

Surgery

  • Invasive procedure
  • Often considered the last resort
  • Can cause further scarring of fascia
  • RELIEF is a potential complement to surgery
